Annual Meeting

The 28th annual meeting of the Space Frequency Coordination Group (SFCG-28) will be held in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada from 16-24 September 2008.   Meeting of the Intersessional Working Groups (IWGs) will be held on 15-September-2008.   The meeting is being hosted by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).  Additional details can be found under event information.

SFCG Items of Interest

The 2003 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-03) was held from 9 June to 4 July 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland. Many items of interest to the SFCG were dealt with at WRC-03 and they are described in the document WRC-03 Results.

The SFCG objectives for the 2007 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07) to be held from 22 October to 16 November 2007 in Geneva, Switzerland can be found in the SFCG WRC-07 Objectives document.

Per SFCG Resolution 24-2, orbital information on the Cloudsat Mission utliziing the 94.0-94.1 GHz allocation can be found on the Cloudsat website.  This includes both Cloudsat orbital elements and orbital predictionsNOTE: The Cloudsat mission has been extended to 11 September, 2011.  Cloudsat orbital elements and orbital predictions will continue to be available on the Cloudsat website.

At SFCG-24 in Perros-Guirec, France, Dr. Roger Saunders of the International TOVS Working Group (ITWG) gave a presentation on the impact that satellite measurements have had on meteorological forecasting (short and medium-range). The presentation, entitled "Use of Microwave Radiances for Weather Forecasting"(PDF, 2.48 MB), offered very clear information and quantitative elements that can be very useful when arguing the case for passive remote sensing protection.

Passive Microwave Workshop

The Third Passive Microwave Workshop, sponsored by NOAA, was held in Silver Spring, MD on 1-2 May 2007.

X-Band Information

The SFCG sponsored X-Band Workshop (offsite link) was held 22-24 June 2005 in Toulouse, France.

The SFCG X-Band Database (MS Excel, 191 KB) is available for public access. (Updated 21-August-2006)
